What Is Happiness?

Hello Ladies,

This is Celia C. Tillman, bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises.  Our lesson for this month is WHAT IS HAPPINESS?  Happiness can connote or suggest many things to different people.  Happiness is probably the easiest emotion to feel and the most difficult to define.  To some it is the absence of pain; to others enough money in the bank to cover an outstanding check or babies who have stopped crying in the middle of the night or being able to convey to your teenage daughter or son that you are a friend and not an enemy.  Many people are overwhelmed with happiness when they buy a new home or a new car, however ten years later, when the house and car are in need of repairs, then the emotions change. The Word of Truth

Hello Ladies,

This is Celia C. Tillman, bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises.  Our lesson for today is THE WORD OF TRUTH.  Ladies, as it relates to the written word of God, it is truthful, and it can be weighed in the balances and will not be found wanting, meaning it is not lacking.

Also, the word of God is, “quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thought and intents of the heart,” Hebrew 4:12.  However, when God speaks, it is with great authority; it is always truthful and to the point, and most of all, It is “impossible for him lie,” Hebrew 6:18. WORDS OF ADMONITION

Hello Ladies,

This is Celia C. Tillman, bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises.  Our lesson for this month is WORDS OF ADMONITION.

Ladies, the word admonition, as defined by the New Webster’s Dictionary and Thesaurus, as being, (1) gentle or friendly reproof, (2) counsel or warning against fault or oversight.  My Christian ladies and friends, when we are admonishing others, we must be mindful of how we speak.  Our speech should always be of kindness and love.  The Bible teaches us to, “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.  Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how you ought to answer every man,” Colossians 4:5-6. Apparel

Hello Ladies,

This is Celia C. Tillman, bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises.  Our lesson for this month is APPAREL.  Ladies, there has been a great change in our society today, clothing has become more revealing of the body both in terms of exposure of the skin, as well as drawing attention to the shape of the body.  We, as children of God, must be very selective of how we dress, and be careful that we are not sending the wrong messages, or drawing attention to ourselves in wearing provocative clothing. Bread of Life

Hello Ladies,

This is Celia C. Tillman, bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises.  Our lesson for today is, THE BREAD OF LIFE.  Ladies, as I thought about this topic, my thoughts raced before me.  I thought of Satan whose influence has brought chaos and misery in the lives of mankind, from the days old, and even to this present day.  Satan is an accuser, a murderer, and a liar, John 8:44.  Satan even had the nerve to stand before God and challenge the faithfulness and loyalty of Job.  The Bible said that this man was perfect and upright; one that eschewed evil (avoided, shun, to abstain from).  He served God faithfully and even offered up prayers for each of his children, Job 1:2-5. Words of Encouragement

Hello Ladies,

This is Celia C. Tillman, bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises.  Our lesson for today is WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT.  Encouragement, as far back as one can remember, has played a significant part in the lives of mankind.  It builds, renews, consoles; instructs, and most of all it teaches a valuable lesson.  However, all of us need encouragement because it makes us feel better to be motivated and to move forward instead of giving up.  Everyone benefits from encouragement, and none of us are so strong that we don’t crave or thirst for it.  Ladies, words of encouragement make people feel better. The Challenges of Life

Hello Ladies,

This is Celia C. Tillman, bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises. Our lesson for today is THE CHALLENGES OF LIFE. LADIES, life can be a challenge for some of us, if we live only on one level apart from God. However, today we hear of every kind of sin imaginable. We listen to the news; there is the pushing the shelving just to get ahead, regardless of whom it hurts or destroy. There are those who have no respect for self or others, and they break into homes and steal, kill if necessary to get what they want. Continue reading

The Mirror of Truth

Hello Ladies,

This is Celia C. Tillman, bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises. Our lesson for today is THE MIRROR OF TRUTH. Ladies, let us define the biblical concept of what TRUTH is. Truth is the word of God which is set apart and distinguished from any other (worldly) truth. We read in John 17:17, where Jesus is praying to his Father, concerning his Apostles saying, “Sanctify them through thy truth thy word is truth.” Continue reading

Misplaced and Displaced Anger

Hello Ladies,

This is Celia C. Tillman, bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises.

This lesson is about  MISPLACED AND DISPLACED ANGER. Ladies, what can be the answer to a mind and provoking subject? Let us first define anger. Anger is an intense emotional state induced by displeasure. Ones anger can be caused by a chain of events or reactions. For example, when force is placed upon the first domino, then all the dominos come crashing down. However, the same thing happens, when one lets his or her anger extend to the point where there is no longer self control. Continue reading
