A “Charge” is a responsibility that has been entrusted to someone or something. Many of us however,  have responsibilities that have a need of being fulfilled during a short period of time or even a lifetime of an individual. Moses made it clear to the people of Israel that when they make a promise to the Lord that it must be kept but if it is broken, then it becomes a sin,(Deuteronomy 23:21-23).  Continue reading →

Hello Ladies,

This is Celia C. Tillman bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises. Our lesson for this month is WAIT ON THE LORD.  Ladies, how many times have we been guilty of being impatient?  The word impatient is used as an adjective which describes the noun or pronoun. Impatient shows the tendency to be quickly agitated or provoked.  The word of God teaches that all who are Christians should follow after faith and patience, especially the older men and women who should be “sober, grave, temperate, sound in the faith, charity; in patience,”(Titus 2:2-3).  They must also be sound in the doctrine of Christ, and to be good examples to the younger generation.  An older person who has had years in the body of Christ should have grown in wisdom, and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  However, they must not be impulsive in their decision making, and lean not to their own understanding but to rely on God’s wisdom.  In essence, however, waiting on God brings about putting our trust in him no matter how long it takes.  To hope and trust in the Lord requires faith, patience; humility. Tillman bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises.  Our lesson for this month is WHY DO WE WORRY?  Many of us know why we worry but we have done it so long that it has become common place in our lives.  Some of us will quickly say, “I don’t worry about anything, and nothing bothers me.”  Well, let us define the word, WORRY.  Worry is unease, and allowing our mind to dwell on difficulty or troubles, fears and concern.  However, we may think that something bad has happened or could happen. Constant worrying can take a toll on our emotional and physical health.  Worry is said to come from an Anglo-Saxon word meaning, “strangle or choke” (word.org). Continue reading →

This is Celia C. Tillman bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises.  Our lesson for this month is WORDS THAT ARE FITLY SPOKEN.  Ladies, words that are fitly spoken are most valuable and essential to ones well being.  However, when our words are fitly spoken, not only do they create a physical impact in our lives but impact our thinking and how we respond to various situations.

As Christians, however, we must give our words much consideration or thought before we open our mouth to speak.  The wise man Solomon said, “A word fitly (properly) spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver,” (Proverb 25:11).  Yes, Ladies words have power, whether for good or bad.  They can help or hurt, if they aren’t used wisely.  For example, Satan words were hurtful when he tried to plant a seed of doubt to tempt Jesus, and he said, “If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.” And Jesus answered and said, “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God,” (Matthew 4:3-4). Tillman bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises.  Our lesson for this month is TIME IS FILLED WITH SWIFT TRANSITION.  Ladies, many of us, when we hear  words like time and swift we think of minutes, hours, and days that goes by with great speed.  However, in every walk of life, we see transition taking place.  First, let us define the word transition.  Transition is the process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another, (Merriam-Webster).  On our jobs, however, we change from one position to another and the movement from childhood to adolescence and from adolescence to adulthood. Many times however, transition is not welcomed because it forces one to give up things that they are accustomed to rather than accept the unknown. Continue reading →

We are now at the end of January 2021, and so much has transpired in our society. There
are some people who are taking matters into their own hands, and disregarding the laws of
the land. There are rioting, killings, insurrection upon our nation capital which was
senseless. These people however, who were involved in these up-rising were self- seekers,
out to make a name for themselves. But what a way to be remembered! Covid-19 is still

Hello Ladies,

This is Celia C. Tillman bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises.  Our lesson for this month is FACING LIFE PROBLEMS WITH COURAGE.  What is courage?  Courage is the ability to take proper action in the face of fear, grief, pain, sickness, and death willingly.  Courage is the answer to many of our life problems.  Jesus Christ is our greatest example of courage because he faced mockery, pain and even death at the hands of cruel men, (Isaiah 53:1-12).  However, before he was crucified on the cross, he prayed unto his heavenly Father saying, “Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine be done,” (Luke 22:42).  However, his Father didn’t leave him comfortless but sent an angel from heaven to strengthen him, (Luke 22:43). Tillman bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises.  Our lesson for this month is GOD’S BLESSINGS THROUGH SICKNESS.  Have you ever had something to come across your mind from time to time that one day your faith would be tested by God, in the presence of those, who hold you in high esteem of God’s divine word?  However, each and every day that we live upon this earth that all of us should be a living testimony for the cause of Christ.

The Apostle Paul said, “I go bound in the spirit into Jerusalem, not knowing the things that may befall me.  In every city I visited, I am told by the Holy Ghost that I will be put in bonds; afflictions will come upon me.  But none of these bother me, neither do I count my life dear unto me but to finish the work of the Lord Jesus Christ and to testify the Gospel of the grace of God, (Acts 20:22-24).
