Hello Ladies, this is Celia C. Tillman,
Have you ever been without light? When there has been a storm, and it has caused every room in your house to be in darkness, what action do you take to restore light again? Some of us may go as far as to contact the source, the power company, or we may first gather the candles, or the lamps, and light them that we may see again.
Spiritually speaking, we must say, that many of our vessels are in need of that fire to motivate us to be faithful unto God, and to do his will. In Jeremiah 23:29, we read, “Is not my word like a fire? saith the Lord; like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces? Yes, God’s word is powerful, and if we as Christian women believe in him then he can restore our fire and bring the flicker of a flame back into full illumination again.
The word of God can teach us about the ways of righteousness, and it can guard our hearts against the pitfalls of Satan. Satan represents sin, which is darkness. Sin can cause us to hide our faults, and alienate us further away from God. When we alienate ourselves from God, then we are welcoming the enemy to come in and take full control of our minds. In Ephesian 4:17-18, the Apostle Paul warns the Christians not to walk as the Gentiles, who didn’t know God, because they walked in the vanity of their minds; their lives were full of darkness. These Gentiles had no part in the life of God because they had given their mind over to lasciviousness (lust, lewdness, and indecent behavior), verse 19.
Ladies, as Christians, we have to keep our lights burning bright and continue to walk in the light to be in full fellowship with the Lord. We as earthly vessels cannot depend upon Satan to guide us in the light because he is of darkness. We must never forget that Satan is a deceiver and a liar, John 8:44. Satan is a tempter and he comes in three ways to seduce us: (1) the lust of the flesh, (2) lust of the eyes; (3) the pride of life, I John 2:16.
Satan is also characterized by the following: (1) hatred, (2) murder, (3) adultery, (4) sex before marriage, (5) homosexuality; (6) denominationalism.
Jesus is the true light that gives us hope to see beyond this world of darkness and confusion. David said in Psalm 18:28, “For thou will light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.” Ladies, we have nothing to fear about Satan, because if we continue in God’s word, and dress appropriately, (loins girt about with truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit and prayer), then we can withstand the fiery darts of Satan, Ephesians 6:13-18.
