This is Celia C Tillman bringing you greetings and encouragement from the Honey-Comb of Praises. Our lesson for this month is THE BATTLE FIELD. Many of us, however, like to categorize the battles that we are facing from day to day. Some say, however, that it is a battle just to survive and make a living or to remain in your right mind. Yes, remaining in our right mind can be impossible to do, if we only trust in ourselves and have no faith in God. Ladies, we may end up with no mind.
We must let the word of Christ dwell in us richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in our hearts to the Lord, (Colossians 3:16); (Philippians 2:5). However, in order for the word of God to be in us, we must study his precepts, (II Timothy 2:15). The Bible or the precepts of God is our road map to heaven. However, before we can claim our prize we must fight in God’s army and be found worthy.
Ladies, are you ready for the BATTLE FIELD? All in the affirmative say yes. The BATTLE FIELD is a field of SWEAT, meaning you will have to put much physical work into it , which will not be in vain. The Apostle Paul said, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your laboring is not in vain in the Lord,” (I Corinthians 15:58); TEARS, we shed because there are some who will not listen no matter how they are being warned of the pit falls of Satan, but we ourselves must continue to fight the good fight of faith, (Act 20:27-31); ENDURANCE, we must not give up but lay aside every weight or sin that can stop us,(Hebrew 12:1) also PATIENCE, a good soldier bear trials without murmuring and complaining because he knows his reward is coming, (Hebrew 10:36), Roman 15:5); there may be some BLOOD shed along the way. We must be willing to give our lives for the cause of Christ because he came and gave his life for, not only Christians, but for the entire human race (Matthews 26:28)).
Ladies, the BATTLE FIELD can be assigned to anyone who has taken the oath of obedience and allegiance to almighty God. Those of us who have made the oath to God must be willing to listen carefully. We are not dealing with flesh and blood but we are in a SPIRITUAL WARFARE, (Ephesians 6:12). We must hold the BLOOD STAIN BANNER of Jesus Christ, remembering that he gave his life a ransom ( a price was paid, his blood on the cross). Ladies, fighting must be a part of this warfare, and it must be done courageously, and faithfully.
Now we are ready to fight on the BATTLE FIELD for the Lord and our garments and armors are awaiting us. The word of God teaches us that we must put on the whole armor of God so that we may be able to withstand the wile (tricks or entanglements) and fiery darts of Satan, (Ephesians 6:11). We must dress appropriately and accordingly to God’s instructions to ensure our safety. We must be able to STAND let the TRUTH be like a belt around our waist (loins) and the breastplate of righteousness, (Ephesians 6:14)
As we walk, our feet should be the good news of PEACE which is the Gospel, (Ephesians 6:15); the SHIELD OF FAITH which is our protector against the fiery darts of the wicked, (Ephesians 6:16). David said, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path, (Psalm 119:105). Ladies our light must
Shine brightly so that we may see the enemy ahead. The roads are dark and treacherous, (not to be trusted, or not reliable) and we must continue to have faith in God. Ladies, let us not forget our HELMET of SALVATION and the SWORD of the SPIRT, which is the word of God, (Ephesians 6:17). We should always have the word of God between us and the person we are teaching. When we teach we don’t have to do the convicting the word of God does it for us. It is quick, powerful and sharper than any two-edge sword, cut into the heart (mind), (Hebrew 4:12)
Ladies, this warfare that we are fighting is not with our relatives, neighbors, co-workers, spouses ; children but with principalities, against powers; against rulers of this world; spiritual wickedness in high places, (Ephesians 6:12).
